Thank
you for choosing concrete surfaces by aci. Though our
specially engineered concrete mix is highly stain and
chemical resistant, we have developed recommendations
to help keep your surfaces beautiful and clean.
Cleaning
For general cleaning of concrete, we recommend a neutral
soap such as simple green or furniture spray polish such
as pledge; we do not recommend using cleaners with abrasive
components (i.e. comet, Ajax). Avoid using bleach and
vinegar.
Care & Maintenance
Your concrete product has been waxed with a carnuba wax.
This wax is for aesthetic purposes only, and will wear
off. Carnuba wax will show scratches and abrasions that
can be buffed off with a soft rag or terry cloth towel.
You may choose any paste, liquid, or spray furniture wax
to maintain a lustrous appearance for your concrete surface.
The necessity and frequency of wax maintenance will vary
depending on the amount of use and your aesthetic preference.
For residential surfaces we recommend a weekly application
of pledge furniture spray wax depending on the amount
of use. Pledge is a very effective, quick and easy way
to beautify your concrete surface, but pledge can also
be used for your daily cleaning as well. Avoid leaving
products such as wine, vinegar, coffee, tea, and acidic
juices such as lemon for long periods of time. This may
result in a slight dulling of the surface. If this etching
occurs just contact aci and we can schedule an appointment
to repair the area.
For commercial situations we recommend more frequent applications
of pledge. For very heavy commercial use we recommend
resealing your concrete every 2 years depending on wear
and type of sealer. You may contact aci if you have further
questions regarding sealers.
For busy kitchens sinks, we recommend the periodic application
of Carnuba wax. Carnuba wax is a paste wax that will provide
a heavier, longer lasting layer of beautification when
necessary. For application; use a small clear cloth, apply
wax generously in a circular motion. Do not allow to sit,
immediately buff off with a larger clean towel. If streaks
appear you may remove them by lightly scrubbing with a
white burnishing pad.
You may purchase TRE wax 100% buffable carnuba wax at
your local Ace Hardware or contact TRE wax at www.trewax.com.
Wood Cutting Boards Product & Maintenance
Your wood cutting board has been treated with oil for
indoor use.
Contents:
Tung oil, linseed oil, methylcellulose, lead free drying
agent, plant based emulsifier, water. The product we use
has been approved for use in contact with foodstuffs.
Several coats of the oil have been applied. You will still
need to reapply oil for cutting boards. It is suggested
that during the first week of use, treat the worktop every
second day, then every third day until the surface is
saturated (after about 2 months). The oil should be applied
to both sides and edges of the cutting board. Apply a
thin coat and allow the oil to penetrate the surface completely.
Wash off any surplus oil with a cloth or kitchen paper
towel. To insure that the cutting board retains its durable
surface for many years to come, it should be treated with
wood treatment oil 3-5 times a year.
If frequent use keeps the new cutting board damp for longer
periods of time more frequent application of oil is required/weekly.
Wood cutting boards next to a sink or stove easily get
dry and need to be treated more often.
Scratches and minor impact marks can be removed by sanding
with sandpaper. Always sand along the grain of the wood.
Never use steel wool. For daily cleaning use soft soap
and water, not any form of chemical. |
